Why I signed up for the MDP:
I mainly build stuff that walks and this last while I have been using MINDSTORMS more than anything else. I have been demonstrating these models for the past five years or so, at LEGOWORLD in the Netherlands. I want to have the best functioning models, as they have to function for a heavy seven days straight, so, I really wanted to have access to this at the earliest possible time in order to ensure this.

Experience with MINDSTORMS:
Not bad at all!

NXT Project: NXT Crab

About this NXT Project:
Build first then program it, that's one of my motto's. As soon as I recieved my set the crab was coming to life... that is, being built. It's a bit shy: As I didn't have time to program it, I first tested it with the 'try me' function of the Sound Sensor . So, at the slightest noise, the bot began to walk away from me... :-) I managed to put three sensors in its head: the Ultrasonic Sensor , the Sound Sensor , and the Touch Sensor . (Whenever the Ultrasonic Sensor doesn't detect an obstacle, the claws do...). It ended up walking better backwards than forwards, so I decided to stick the head on it's tail! Anyway, it took two prototypes to get to a well working model, all within the inventory of the original MINDSTORMS NXT set.
