In the User Guide for the new LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 (article no. 8547) a little printing error has unfortunately slipped through our final check procedure.
In the section with building instructions for the Quick Start model, the final step #20, on page 15, two cables have been marked in-correctly. The cable going from port B has been marked to go into the middle motor on the model and the cable going from port A have been marked to go into the motor on the right side of the model [as seen on the picture].
This would cause your robot to not work as expected, and could be mistaken to be a fault with the construction or the software. This is not the case.
The correction connections are to connect the cable coming out of port A to the middle motor, the cable coming out of port B to the motor on the right [as seen on the picture], and lastly the cable coming out of port C must be connected to the motor on the left [as seen on the picture].
The correct colour markings are shown in the picture here.
